Registering to Vote and submitting a ballot is fast, easy, and can be done from anywhere in the world! (January 20, 2022) Start by confirming your voter registration with your state. Some states require absentee voters to register annually so you may need to re-register. Go to FVAP.gov to connect to your state’s voter portal to register to vote, request a ballot, and more. More than 100,000 military retirees living in five states will soon be seeing more money in their pockets, thanks to new laws that were passed in 2021 making their military retirement tax free.
You may know that most VA benefits are tax-free. Did you know that many states do not charge income tax on active duty or retired military pay? Many others tax only a portion of these pays. This year our Santa Project community out reach was limited due to the COVID Virus. The Post undauntedly pursued the outreach effort and reached out to two local orphanages, The Hope Home and the Daughters of Ruth Home. As in Past years we partnered with the Zirieng Undompol Stationary Shop and individual members to provide small gifts and treats to the children and staff of these homes.
EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2022 A has determined that it will be beyond the limits of the VA Manila Outpatient Clinic to prescribe or dispense controlled substance medications to Veterans living in or traveling through the Philippines. This includes all controlled substance medications, from Schedule II to Schedule V medications. Some common examples of controlled substance medications include certain pain medications, some mental health medications, sleep medications, and others.

Presentation of Jackets & Blankets to Thai War Veterans. This year we traveled to Wat Buppharam to meet with Thai War Veterans and distributed VFW Logo jackets and blankets on 4 November, 2021. 70 sets of Jackets & Blankets were distributed.
The Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs held a hearing on economic opportunity issues including improvements for veterans employment, education, and home loan opportunities. VFW National Legislative Director Pat Murray testified on the importance of the Transition Assistance Program stating, “A proper and well-rounded transition from the military is one of the most important things our service members need to ease back into society with minimal hardships.”

Congress is voting now on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2022. Amendments have been added to the NDAA for H.R. 1115 / S. 535, the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Location Act, and H.R. 1282 / S. 344, the Major Richard Star Act. Post-9/11 veterans deserve to be honored with a GWOT memorial on the National Mall and Purple Heart recipients deserve to receive all the benefits they earned. Now is the time to move these two important pieces of legislation forward. Contact your members of Congress TODAY and demand they pass this crucial legislation.
American Citizen Services (ACS) for U.S. Mission Thailand. We provide a range of services and information. All non-emergency consular services, including passport applications, notarizations and reports of birth abroad, require an appointment. We will not accept walk-ins. This assists us in providing prompt and efficient consular services to American Citizens residing in and visiting Thailand. We provide American Citizen Services at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok and the U.S. Consulate General in Chiang Mai.

VFW POST 12074 Has adopted Scout Troop 731. This adoption will assist in forging a close-knit cooperation between our organizations. Some of the VFW earliest ties to the community involve youth groups and perhaps none are stronger or more lasting than the relationship between the VFW and America's scouting organizations. In fact, our partnership with the Boy Scouts of America dates back to 1915 when VFW Post 2100 helped to establish Troop 1 in Everett, Washington.

The POW/MIA flag is displayed at selected federal facilities on six designated days: Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, National POW/MIA Recognition Day and Veterans Day. National POW/MIA Recognition Day was established in 1979. There is an annual Presidential proclamation commemorating the third Friday in September as National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
