The Thai War Veteran Jacket & Blanket Project distributes these items to the needy Thai veterans in our area.
This year we will travel to Wat Buppharam (click here) to meet with Thai War Veterans to distribute
VFW Logo jackets and blankets on 4 November,2021.
70 sets of Jackets & Blankets were distributed.
The distribution occurs at the start of our cold season here in Chiang Mai, usually in Nov/Dec. The focus for distribution is Thai War Veterans who are elderly, infirm and/or disadvantaged.
Due to the mountainous landscape in
Northern Thailand, cities like Chiang Mai and the surrounding areas could
experience record low temperatures this year. Chiang Mai is expected to hover
around 12-14°C (50-57°F) with much colder temperatures in the mountains where morning frost isn't unusual.
